LAS VEGAS - The UNLV softball team will be making four appearances on national and regional television split between College Sports Television (CSTV) and the MountainWest Sports Network (The Mtn.). Overall, the Mountain West Conference will have a total of 11 games aired. The television exposure provided by the MWC broadcast partners far exceeds the softball coverage in the previous seven-year history of the league.

The Rebels 5:00 p.m. doubleheader in Las Vegas, Nev., versus Utah on Thursday, April 5, will be shown on The Mtn. CSTV will air two single-game contests for UNLV on Saturday, May 5 (6:00 p.m. at San Diego State) and Thursday, May 10 (5:00 p.m. at BYU).

Seven games will be shown on The Mtn., while four games will be broadcast live nationally on CSTV. BYU will be shown a conference-high six times, while San Diego State follows close behind with five appearances. Utah will be shown three times, while Colorado State and New Mexico will have two games apiece aired.

Today's television announcement reflects the benefits of the ongoing partnership between CSTV Networks and Comcast for The Mtn. - MountainWest Sports Network. The Mtn. is the first 24-hour sports network devoted exclusively to a single conference. The Mtn. will not only broadcast live games, but will air pre-game and post game shows for all baseball games and all but one softball game, as well as regular coverage on The Mtn.'s shows The Mountain View and The Mountain Cap, which break down MWC games, look ahead to the big games on the horizon and feature extensive game highlights. The Mtn. will also feature coverage of softball players and coaches on Mountain Peak Performances, a new weekly show which puts the spotlight on athletes and coaches in Olympic sports.
