UNLV women's track and field competed in the Cal-Nevada Championships and had three student-athletes finish in the top 10 at the meet held at Warmerdam Field on the campus of Fresno State University.
Lauren Johnson earned two seventh-place finishes, crossing the finish line in the 100 meters in a time of 12.12 and then running a time of 24.79 in the 200 meters. Also on the track, Meia Tezeno came in second place in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 13.94. Tezeno was the highest placer for the Rebels on the afternoon.
In the field events Claire Schreiner tied for sixth in the high jump, clearing 5'-3.00". The 4x100 relay team ran a time of 47.27 to finish sixth as well for UNLV.
As a team UNLV finished in 12th place with a total of 18.50 points and MWC-rival San Diego State won the meet with a total of 166 points while UCLA was second with 147. A total of 21 women's teams competed in the meet on Saturday. Two years ago the Rebels finished second overall at the meet and they did not participate in last year's event.
UNLV will take next weekend off before competing in the Mt. Sac Relays on April 12-14 and the Pacific Coast Invitational on April 13. Both meets will take place in California.
