* Missouri Valley Invades Vegas for UNLV Rebel Classic
The Rebels host their second straight weekend tournament this week, welcoming in two Missouri Valley Conference foes in Drake and Missouri State, along with San Diego State University. The UNLV Rebel Classic starts on Friday, with Missouri State and San Diego State playing at 5 PM, followed by the Rebels and Drake at 7:30 PM. The Classic ends Saturday evening when Drake and the Aztecs square off at 5 PM, with the UNLV-Missouri State ending the day's festivities.

* Rebels Split Games in the 2007 UNLV adidas Invitational
The Rebels, home for the first time in 2007, made the most of their home opener with a 4-3 win over regionally-ranked Cal Poly. UNLV grabbed three goals from freshmen, two from Stephen Sifuntes and one spectacular goal from Daniel Cruz. Ben Haugland scored the other goal for the Rebels, as Calvin Bailey stopped three shots in getting the win. On Sunday though, the Rebels' offense wasn't as potent as Cal State Northridge came away with a 1-0 victory. The Rebs had chances to score, but none came to fruition. Bailey finished the game with five stops on the afternoon.

* Scouting the Drake Bulldogs
Drake comes to Vegas with a 4-2 record but has played well enough to garner a sixth ranking in the NSCAA Midwest Region. The Bulldogs are coming off victories over UW-Milwaukee on Sept. 14 and Wisconsin on Sept. 16. Drake has also won four of their last five games. Drake currently has the 13th-best scoring offense in the country. Leading the way for the Drake is Kevin Shrout, Garrett Webb and Nick Foster. Shrout, a 5-10 sophomore, has scored three goals which leads all scorers for DU. Foster, a freshman midfielder, has scored once but dished out a team-best three assists. Webb has scored twice and assisted on three others. Philip Breuer has played the majority of time in net, allowing 1.23 goals per contest, combining on one shutout.

* Scouting the Missouri State Bears
Missouri State enters the UNLV Rebel Classic with a 2-3-1 record, but have lost three of their last four contests, tying the other. Oddly enough, the Bears have outscored their foes, 10-6, but still have a losing mark. MSU is paced in the scoring log by Kyle Windmueller, who has two goals. Eight other Bears have scored once, with Henry Lawrence III topping the assist column with two. Lance Parker has played every minute in goal, allowing six goals and making 39 saves, ranking him five nationally in that category.
