LAS VEGAS - Host UNLV saw top player Elliot Wronski win twice on Friday to advance into the semifinals of the annual Rebel Classic men's tennis tournament at the Fertitta Tennis Complex.
Wronski first downed Siddarth Alapati of Fresno State 6-1, 6-2 and then got by Ravid Hazi of Arizona 7-6, 6-2.
In the second flight of singles play, Attila Toth stayed alive by enjoying a first-round bye and then downing Taylor King of Arkansas 6-7, 6-4, 6-4.
The Rebels also picked up consolation draw wins from Wesley Burrow and Bryan Miller.
In doubles, Wronski and Luca Barlocchi had a first-round bye while Burrows and Toth teamed up for an 8-4 victory over a duo from Arkansas.
Players from seven schools are on hand this weekend. Two rounds of doubles and one round of singles are scheduled for Saturday while the finals of both are set for Sunday.
