LAS VEGAS - Air Force spoiled UNLV's Senior Day, as the Falcons scored the lone goal of the game in the second half to claim a 1-0 victory in the season finale for both teams in Mountain Pacific Sports Federation men's soccer action on Sunday afternoon from Peter Johann Memorial Field. The Rebels finish their season at 8-9-1, and 3-7 in the conference, while Air Force improved to 5-12, 3-7 in the league.

The first half saw the Rebels unleash seven shots at the Air Force goal, while the Falcons were held to just one shot, yet the half would end in a scoreless 0-0 tie. The Falcons then scored the game-winner just two minutes into the second half after earning a corner kick off a blocked Kevin Rosser shot. Rosser then took the corner kick, and sent a kick into the middle of the box that was headed in by Andrew Golz for the goal from five yards out in the 48th minute (47:01).

UNLV did have its chances to tie up the score, as it would take 13 shots in the second half, but kept sending their shots just wide of the goal. The Rebels' best chance came in the 62nd minute, when Lamar Neagle rose above the Air Force defenders to head a corner kick, but his attempt went just inches to the outside of the left post.

Jim Gullo posted two saves to make the shutout for the Falcons, while Rebel goalkeeper Hawk Mummey did not make a save, as Air Force's only shot on goal was the game-winner. UNLV held a 20-5 edge on shots for the afternoon, and 6-2 edge on corner kicks.
