LAS VEGAS - Senior midfielder Lamar Neagle was named to the NSCAA All-Far West Region Second Team, it was announced on Wednesday. Neagle becomes the first Rebel to earn all-region honors in four years, as Victor "Boomer" Arbelaez was a third-team honoree in 2004.
Neagle, a native of Federal Way, Wash., last month joined former teammate Rod Dyachenko (2002-05) as the only Rebel to be named All-MPSF First Team three times in his career. He led the conference in goals this year with nine, while his 18 points ranked him second as well. Twice this year he scored two goals in the same game, including in UNLV's 2-1 win at St. Mary's, in which he scored back-to-back goals just 29 seconds apart. He has also scored game-winners this year over both Sacramento State and San Jose State. Neagle finished his career at UNLV ranked ninth in career goals with 27, while his 60 career points put him in a tie for eighth place.
