Leading Off: The UNLV Rebels return home to Las Vegas after hitting the road last week in the Palm Springs Classic in Cathedral City, Calif. Unfortunately, the Rebels went 1-5 at the Classic and dropped out of the top 25 in both softball polls. UNLV sits on the outside looking in at #26 in the ESPN.com/USA Softball Poll, while the USA Today/NFCA Poll has them at #30. The team will participate its Eller Media Stadium Classic (Feb. 29-March 2). The Rebels will welcome California, Hawai'i, Long Beach State, Pittsburgh and Western Kentucky to the three-day event. UNLV is scheduled for the final two games on Friday and Saturday at 6:00 pm and 8:15 pm, while they are set for the Classic's finale on Sunday at 1:30 pm.

On Deck: Following the conclusion of the Eller Media Stadium Classic, the Rebels will venture to the Golden State for the second of four scheduled trips in 2008. UNLV will head to Los Angeles to play the UCLA Bruins on March 5, prior to hosting the UNLV Invitational (March 7-9).

Rebels In The Polls: The UNLV Rebels began the 2008 season receiving votes in the USA Today/NFCA Top 25 Poll and the ESPN.com/USA Softball Top 25 Poll. The Rebels worked their way into both top-25 polls on Feb. 19, after owning a 9-1-1 record through the first two weekends of play. UNLV was 18th in that ESPN.com/USA Softball Poll and 21st in the USA Today/NFCA Poll.

After going 1-5 in the Palm Springs Classic the Rebels dropped out of both polls and back into the receiving votes category. UNLV sits 26th in the ESPN.com/USA Softball Poll and 30th in the USA Today/NFCA Poll.
