Final Stats

LAS VEGAS - The UNLV Rebels (18-12-1) needed only five innings to run-rule the Utah Valley Wolverines (4-16) for the second time in two days. The Rebels tallied runs in all five innings with Chey Farley's grand slam immediately ending the game at 9-1 and giving UNLV head coach Lonni Alameda her 150th career victory.

The Rebels jumped out to a quick 1-0 lead with help from a UVU error in the first. Alyssia De La Torre walked with one out and was awarded second on an illegal pitch thrown by Alli Bramwell. De La Torre took third on a fielding error by Magan Niemann at second and then scored when Jaci Hull intentionally got in a run down between first and second.

Brittany Bolinger pushed UNLV's lead to 2-0 with a sacrifice fly in the second to score Cheynah Farley.

The Wolverines pulled within one at 2-1 with a tally in the top of the third. Abby Bowcutt led off the inning with a double and took third on a single by Niemann. Bowcutt scored when Ashli Holland's throw home on a grounder put in play by Meghan Woodworth.

UNLV got that run back and one more in the bottom of the third. Hull led off the inning by getting plunked by a pitch and took second on a sacrifice bunt by Rosa Ordaz. Laura Briones singled to center and took second when Hull advanced to third. Stephanie Bean plated Hull with a single of her own, while Briones scored on a groundout by Paus.

De La Torre extended UNLV's lead to 5-1 with a solo home run to left center.

Farley closed out the game with a bit of dramatics in the bottom of the fifth. With the bases loaded, following singles by Sandy Nakamura and Bean and a walk by Jessica DeMatteo, Farley took Bramwell's offering to deep left center.

Traci Odegard improved to 6-3 on the year with her 5.0-inning effort. Odegard struck out five and allowed only one run on three hits.

Bramwell falls to 4-5 with the loss. She surrendered nine runs (eight earned) on eight hits.
