LAS VEGAS - UNLV senior Stephanie Bean has been named Mountain West Conference Softball Player of the Week.
Bean helped UNLV to a 4-1 record in the UNLV Round Robin this past weekend. She led the Rebels with her .733 batting average, 11 hits and seven runs in three wins over Utah Valley and one over Nebraska. She tallied three, three-hit games, and had at least one hit in all five contests.
In the Rebels first game vs. Utah Valley, she went 3-for-3 with three runs scored. In game two vs. UVU, she led off the fifth with a double and wound up scoring on a grand slam. In the third contest vs. UVU, Bean went 3-for-3 with an RBI-single in the third and also scored a run. In the second game vs. Nebraska, Bean went 3-for-3 with two runs and an RBI-single. She scored UNLV's first run in the game and later came across for the team's fourth tally.
In all, she bumped her batting average up 93-points with her effort in the UNLV Round Robin and is now hitting .317 on the year.
