Final Stats
Fullerton, Calif. - The UNLV Rebels (19-18-1) dropped a close-knit affair with the #14 DePaul Blue Demons (18-9) on Friday night at the Judi Garman Classic in Fullerton, Calif. The Blue Demons won by a 2-1 final margin, while holding off the Rebels come back attempts.
DePaul jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first inning with help from a two-run home run by Jackie Tarulli-Fisher. Amber Patton began the Blue Demons' opportunity with a single to center before Tarulli-Fisher connected on the ninth pitch of her at-bat.
Rosa Ordaz pulled UNLV within one in the bottom of the fourth with a solo blast to deep center.
The Rebels had their opportunities as they left four runners on base throughout the game, with all four stranded at second base.
Lauren Frankiewicz improved to 7-2 on the year with the complete-game win. Frankiewicz allowed one run on four hits, while striking out 10.
Stephanie Bregante drops to 10-10 on the year with the loss. Bregante gave up two runs on seven hits. She fanned four batters to walking only one.
The Rebels close out the "Garman" on Saturday, March 22 with a 6:00 pm tilt against Long Beach State.
