FULLERTON, Calif. - Cal State Northridge scored once in each half and posted a 2-0 win over UNLV in men's collegiate soccer action on Sunday afternoon on the second day of the Cal State Fullerton Tournament from Titan Stadium. The loss was the first of the season for UNLV, breaking its three-game win streak to open the season, while the Matadors improved to an identical 3-1 record.

Cameron Sims scored the game-winner for CSU Northridge in the 17th minute, as Luis Smith sent a long through ball that Sims volleyed about waist high softly around UNLV goalkeeper Hawk Mummey. The Matadors' second goal came in the 47th minute, when crossing passes from Camilo Rojas and Dylan Riley led to a diving header by Moy Gomes.

Hawk Mummey finished the game with five saves, while Kevin Guppy did not have to make a save in the game. UNLV was outshot 12-6 for the game, including 7-0 on shots on goal.

UNLV will return to action this weekend on its home field in the UNLV Nike Classic. The Rebels will meet Gonzaga first on Friday night at 7 pm, and close out the tournament with a game against Oral Roberts on Sunday at 1 pm.
