Rebels Hold Postseason Banquet

LAS VEGAS - The UNLV women's soccer team held its postseason banquet on Friday night, and three Rebels received team awards.

Alicia Lugo was named the Team MVP. A junior goalkeeper and native of Lancaster, Calif., Lugo earned her first all-conference honor this season, as she was named All-MWC Second Team after leading the MWC with 4.5 saves per game. She also recorded a 1.08 GAA in 1836 minutes of play.

Senior defender Brie Kuhne of San Diego, Calif., was named Defensive MVP. A four-year starter for the Rebels, she was was named all-conference three straight years, including second team this season, and also scored a career-high six points this year.

Ashleigh Shoughro, a Las Vegas native and sophomore forward, is the Offensive MVP. She was named both first-team All-MWC and third team all-region after setting a new UNLV single season record with 28 points, which ranked her second in the league. Her 13 points in conference play was also top in the MWC.

Kuhne also received the Robin Morlock Coaches' Award.
