COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Senior forward Kelly Labor's first career goal at UNLV lifted the Rebels to their first conference victory of the season, a 1-0 victory at Air Force in Mountain West Conference women's soccer action on Thursday afternoon at Cadet Soccer Stadium. The win broke a three-game losing streak for UNLV, improving its record to 5-6-4, 1-2 in league play, while the Falcons dropped to 2-12-1, 0-4 in the MWC.

The advantage was in the Rebels' hands in the first half as they owned a 7-4 edge on shots but the half would end in a scoreless 0-0 tie. Both teams took seven shots each in the second half, and it was UNLV that had the shot that mattered. The winning score came just 20 seconds after Labor, a native of Steamboat Springs, Colo, came into the game. LaChere Anglin sent in a pass from the end line, and Labor raced into the box and one-timed a shot into the back of the net from 10-yards out in the 63rd minute, putting UNLV up 1-0. Air Force had four shots over the final 27 minutes in an attempt to tie up the game, but only one of the attempts was on goal and it was stopped by Rebel goalkeeper Alicia Lugo.

With six saves in the game, Lugo became UNLV's all-time career saves leader with 310, passing the previous record of 305 held by Jenna Huff (2002-05). Lugo also picked up her fifth shutout of the year, and the 24th in her career. Ariana Green was credited with two saves in the goal for Air Force. UNLV finished the day with a 14-11 edge on shots, and 4-0 on corner kicks.

UNLV will remain on the road for its next game on Saturday at Wyoming in an 11 am contest.
