Box Score

LARAMIE, Wyo. - Junior forward Ashleigh Shoughro scored her first goal of the season midway through the first half to help UNLV earn a 1-1 double-overtime tie at Wyoming in Mountain West Conference women's soccer action on Saturday afternoon at Louis S. Madrid Soccer Complex. The Rebels moved their record to 5-6-5, 1-2-1 in the MWC, while Wyoming's record now stands at 9-5-3, 3-1-1 in the conference.

Shoughro's score came in the 22nd minute, as she found herself alone inside the box and sent the ball to the back of the net for the score, putting UNLV up 1-0. Brittney Flores and Collete Jepson were credited with assists on the score. That would be the only score of the half, with UNLV taking the 1-0 edge into the break.

Wyoming would come up with a tying score in the 71st minute, thanks to a goal from Carmen Blume as she headed in Emma Watson's corner kick into the corner of the net to make the score 1-1. Neither team could notch a score over the final 19 minutes of the second half, and the contest would go into overtime. Each team would take a total of three shots over the two overtime periods, but the game would end in the 1-1 tie.

Alicia Lugo posted five saves in goal for the Rebels, while Wyoming's Courtney Merkle was credited with three stops. Wyoming held a 16-10 edge on shots, and a 7-5 advantage on corner kicks.

Next for UNLV will be its final home games of the season, as the Rebels will host TCU on Friday, Oct. 23 at 7 pm, and then will host a Senior Day matchup with San Diego State on Sunday, Oct. 25 at 1 pm.
