Box Score

LAS VEGAS - San Diego State's Jessica Gordon scored just over seven minutes into the contest for the day's only goal to give the Aztecs a 1-0 victory over UNLV on the Rebels' Senior Day Sunday in Mountain West Conference women's soccer action on Sunday afternoon from Peter Johann Memorial Field.

It was a fairly even contest, with SDSU (11-3-5, 4-0-2 MWC) holding a slight edge on shots, 12-11. The winning goal came in the eighth minute when there was a scramble for the ball inside the box that Rebel goalkeeper Alicia Lugo could not get her hands on. Gordon came into the box and scored from five yards out to give the Aztecs a 1-0 lead, an advantage that would hold up for the rest of the game.

Lugo finished with two saves in the net for UNLV (5-8-5, 1-4-1 MWC), while Aubree Southwick posted five saves to earn the shutout for the Aztecs.

UNLV will close out the regular season on Saturday, Oct. 31, when it goes on the road to face New Mexico in Albuquerque in a 4 pm (PST) contest.
