RIVERSIDE, Calif. - With just over five minutes left in the second half, UNLV junior midfielder Stephen Sifuentes scored the only goal of the game to give the Rebels a 1-0 victory at UC Riverside on Saturday night from the UCR Soccer Stadium. The win improved the Rebels to 5-2-2 on the season, while UCR dropped to 1-8 for the year.

UNLV broke into the scoring column in the 85th minute when Sifuentes stole the ball, drove down the left side of the field and unleashed a shot that beat Suppe to the left inside corner. The goal would stand up over the final five minutes, giving Sifuentes his second game-winning goal of the year and third in his career.

UNLV goalie Roland Swanson posted three saves to earn the shutout, his fourth of the season. UCR finished the game with a 7-4 edge on corner kicks.
