LAS VEGAS - Freshman forward Nick Marshall was named to the NSCAA All-Far West Region Third Team, it was announced on Thursday. Marshall becomes the first-ever freshman at UNLV to earn all-region honors, and is the third Rebel in the past five years to earn the honor.

Marshall, a native of Tucson, Ariz., led the Rebels and finished third in the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation in scoring with 19 points. His eight goals tied for the team-high as well as second in the league, and he would also add three assists. He tied for first in the MPSF in game-winning goals with three, including a golden goal in UNLV's season-opening 1-0 upset on the road at Cal Poly. His other game-winners came against Florida Gulf Coast in the regular season and in the MPSF tournament in UNLV's 4-2 win over third-seeded San Jose State.place.

UNLV finished the season with an 8-7-4 overall record, its first winning season since 2002.
