LAS VEGAS - The 73rd-ranked UNLV men's tennis team downed UC Riverside 6-1 in the first of two matches for the Rebels on Saturday at the Fertitta Tennis Complex.
Against the Highlanders, UNLV won all three doubles matches to earn a 1-0 lead. No. 46 Elliot Wronski and Luca Barlocchi won 9-7 at the top spot, Wesley Burrows and Bryan Miller won 8-5 at the second position and Matthew Kunkel and Nikolaj Wulff used a tiebreaker to win 8-7 on court three.
In singles play, the Rebels won in straight sets on five of six courts. Earning those points were 98th-ranked Wronski, Mehdi Bouras, Barlocchi, Burrows and Attila Toth.
