SAN DIEGO - The 59th-ranked UNLV men's tennis team hit the road for the first time all season and lost 6-1 to No. 30 Texas Tech on the campus of San Diego State.

The Rebels fell to 10-6 overall while the Red Raiders improved to 8-5.

Texas Tech won two of three matches to take a 1-0 lead after a spirited doubles session. Winning for UNLV was the duo of Wesley Burrows and Bryan Miller on court three.

In singles play, the only Rebel to win was freshman standout Mehdi Bouras, who used a super-tiebreaker to hold off Sinisa Markovic 3-6, 6-3, 1-0 (10-8) on court two. Senior Elliot Wronski fell at the top spot, 6-3, 6-4, to 45th-ranked Raony Carvalho.

The Rebels will take Sunday off before battling No. 27 Minnesota on Monday morning in San Diego.
