Final Stats
LAS VEGAS - The No. 14 UNLV men's golf team shot a final-round score of 28-over-par 312 on Tuesday and finished 12th at the 18-team Morris Williams Intercollegiate, which was played at the University of Texas Golf Club (par 71, 7,412 yards) in Austin, Texas.
The Rebels finished 56 shots behind Oklahoma State, which won the team title at 11-over 863 after a final-round 10-over 294. Arkansas finished second, 25 shots back, at 36-over. USC was third at 39-over, followed by host Texas in fourth at 44-over, while TCU rounded out the top five at 49-over. UNLV's 54-hole total was 67-over 919.\
Oklahoma State's Morgan Hoffmann and USC's Tom Glissmeyer earned co-medalist honors after finishing with totals of 1-under 212. Hoffmann shot 1-under 70 during the final round, while Glissmeyer was 2-over 73. Oklahoma State's Kevin Tway finished third, four shots back.
UNLV's top finisher was Derek Ernst, who tied for 42nd place at 18-over 231 after a final-round 6-over 77. Other UNLV players final-round scores, places and 54-hole totals: Colby Smith (79, T47th, 19-over 232), Ji Moon (81, T47th, 19-over 232), Brett Kanda (85, T58th, 21-over 234) and Eddie Olson (75, T71st, 23-over 236).
The Rebels will be back in action April 10 at the ASU Thunderbird Invitational in Tempe, Ariz.
