On Deck: The winner of the Los Angeles Regional will advance to play in the Super Regionals against the winner of the Columbia (Missouri Regional) on May 21-24 at a site to be determined.

The Columbia Regional is comprised of the #15-national seeded DePaul Blue Demons, Bradley Braves, Illinois Fighting Illini and the host Missouri Tigers.

Familiar Faces: The UNLV Rebels will play against some familiar faces this weekend in Los Angeles. In all, UNLV has played over 100 games, since 1985, against the three other teams in the LA Regional.

UNLV holds a 26-91 overall combined mark against UCLA, Long Beach State and Fresno State in the past 25 seasons of play.

The Rebels and UCLA have only played non-conference games, while LBSU and FS have some conference affiliations sprinkled into the mix.

UNLV previously played with Long Beach State in the PCAA (1986) and Big West (1987-96) Conferences. Overall, LBSU owns a 33-18 edge in all games played between the two programs, while notching a 3-1 mark in PCAA action and 29-16 in Big West play.

Similar to the LBSU history, UNLV and FS spent nine years linked together in conference play. The Rebels and Bulldogs were in the Big West together from 1987-92 with FS holding a 20-4 advantage. The duo got back together in 1997 until 1999 when both were members of the WAC. FS took 10 of 11 games from UNLV, prior to UNLV's departure to the Mountain West.

Three Make It: For the sixth time in Mountain West Conference history, the league will send multiple programs to the NCAA Tournament. The 2009 season marks only the second time that the selection committee tabbed a trio of MWC squads for postseason action.

The first instance of three MWC teams continuing into the postseason was in 2006. The Utah Utes, San Diego State Aztecs and BYU Cougars were all tabbed for the tourney four seasons ago.

Coincidentally, BYU and San Diego State are part of the `09 trio, as UNLV replaces Utah.
