TULSA, Okla. - The UNLV men's soccer team held a 16-10 advantage on shots but was forced to settle for a 0-0 double-overtime tie on Friday night against Oral Roberts in the ORU Tournament from the ORU Soccer Complex. It was the first tie of the season for the Rebels, moving them to 2-1-1 on the season, while the Golden Eagles' record now stands at 1-1-1.
The Rebels were on target with their shots, taking a total of 10 shots on goal, all which were saved by ORU goalkeeper Andrew Techanchuk. Roland Swanson meanwhile needed to make just two saves to post the shutout for UNLV. The Rebels held a 5-1 edge on corner kicks as well. The scoreless tie was the first for UNLV since a 0-0 overtime tie against Notre Dame on Sept. 3, 2000 in Las Vegas.
UNLV will close out play in the tournament on Sunday when it faces Centenary in an 11 am (PST) start.
