Marshall Picks Up Weekly Honor

LAS VEGAS - UNLV's Nick Marshall was named the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Brine Player of the Week, it was announced by the league office on Tuesday. It is the first weekly MPSF honor of his career. He shared the award with Max Alvarez of Sacramento State.

Marshall, a freshman forward and native of Tucson, Ariz., came off of the bench to tally nine points in his first collegiate week. He scored four goals and had one assist on the way to leading the Rebels to victory in two of their first three contests. Making his first appearance as a Rebel, Marshall scored the game-winner in the second overtime at No. 23 Cal Poly on Sept. 1. He followed that up with two goals in the Rebels' loss to Central Arkansas on Sept. 4 as well as tallying one goal and one assist in the win over Robert Morris on Sept. 6. Marshall currently leads the squad in total points with nine.

UNLV (2-1) travels to Tulsa, Okla. this weekend to compete in the Oral Roberts Tournament. The Rebels will take on host Oral Roberts on Friday at 5 pm (PST) and face Centenary College Sunday at 11 am (PST).
