Family Day Change

Oct. 26, 2010

LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) - The UNLV softball team has altered the "Family Day" finale of its fall-ball lineup on Nov. 13 to include a game against Yavapai College at 1:00 pm. Originally, the Rebels had planned to host an intrasquad event, but will now face an opponent from Prescott, Ariz., instead.

UNLV played its first fall games last week against the College of Southern Nevada and will host a two-day slate this upcoming weekend, Oct. 29-30. The Rebels, Cal Baptist University and Cypress College will play a round-robin schedule Friday, Oct. 29, beginning at 11:00 am at Eller Media Stadium. Saturday, Oc. 30, will witness Dixie State joining the fray and participating in the four-game lineup.

After two weeks of competition, UNLV will welcome back some familiar faces for its alumni game that will be played on Nov. 6 and will include a ceremonial first pitch by UNLV Athletics Hall of Fame inductee Julie Crandall.

Besides a game with Yavapai, UNLV will celebrate Jenna Jackson's successful fight against cancer and let the nine-year-old throw out a ceremonial first pitch before the game. Jackson and her family were paired up with the softball program last year through the Friends of Jaclyn Foundation.
