LAS VEGAS - UNLV men's tennis senior Luca Barlocchi earned all-league for the third time in his Rebel career as he and sophomore Mehdi Bouras were both honored by the Mountain West Conference Wednesday.
Known as the "Swiss Wizard," Barlocchi is a native of Zurich, Switzerland. Both he and Bouras were named All-MWC in singles and doubles at the league's annual awards banquet.
Barlocchi previously won for doubles last season and for his singles work in 2008. He is currently 19-12 in singles after going 3-3 in MWC play and 20-13 in doubles, including a 4-2 mark vs. league opponents. He sits ninth at UNLV with 76 career singles wins.
Bouras, out of Paris, France, earned All-MWC singles for the second time but picked up his first doubles honor. The team's No. 1 player currently stands 25-15 in singles and 19-13 in doubles.
Both players will get a chance at more wins here on Thursday when the Rebels play their opening-round match at the MWC Championships being held at the Fertitta Tennis Complex. UNLV faces New Mexico beginning with doubles play at 9 a.m. PT.
