UNLV weekly women's soccer notes
The UNLV women's soccer team (6-3) is ready for one last weekend of non-conference action before beginning Mountain West Conference play, as the Rebels will take on a pair of opponents in the Air Force Invitational this Friday and Sunday in Colorado Springs. First up will be a contest against VMI of the Big South Conference at 3 pm (PT) , and that will be followed by a Sunday game against Weber State at 12 pm (PT).
Following a pair of tight 2-1 contests this past weekend, in which UNLV saw Long Beach State rally for a 2-1 overtime win on Friday night before the Rebels bounced back to drop UC Davis 2-1 on Sunday, the Rebels will be facing a pair of teams that have not had quite the same success in 2010. VMI is 1-7 thus far this season, and have scored just two goals, while Weber State is looking for its first victory of the year.
The Rebels are hoping to reach eight wins with a pair of victories this weekend. which would be the second time UNLV has reached that mark by the end of September.
