The UNLV women's soccer team will be the fourth seed in next week's Mountain West Tournament, and will face fifth-seed Boise State on Wednesday at 2 pm PT, as the league office released the official tournament bracket on Saturday. This year's tournament is being hosted by regular season champion New Mexico in Albuquerque.
The Rebels, 7-9-3 overall and 3-2-1 in the conference, finished in fourth place in the league standings with 10 points. BSU meanwhile was 8-10-1, and 2-4 in the conference in its first year as a member. In the regular season meeting between the two, UNLV claimed a 5-0 win in Las Vegas. The other first round matchup will be third-seed Wyoming and sixth-seed TCU, with an 11 am start. New Mexico (top seed) and San Diego State (second seed) both receive byes into the semifinal round, which will be played on Friday, Nov. 4, with the championship game slated for Sunday, Nov. 6.
UNLV is 9-8-4 all-time in the Mountain West Tournament, which includes winning the 2005 and 2006 championships. The Rebels are 5-3-1 all-time in the first round of the MW Tournament, and have appeared in the semifinal round seven of the last eight years.
