SAN DIEGO (UNLVRebels.com) - The UNLV Rebels (21-17 overall, 3-4 MWC) dropped a 4-0 contest to the San Diego State Aztecs (29-16, 5-2) Saturday afternoon at SDSU Softball Stadium in San Diego. The game was a scoreless affair through four innings until SDSU put three on the board in the fifth.

After watching the teams leave 13 runners combined on the base paths during the first 4.5 innings, the Aztecs capitalized in the bottom of the fifth with three runs to break open the scoreless affair. Jen Wisneski stepped up to the plate with runners in scoring position and delivered a three-run home run down the line in left to give her squad a 3-0 lead. Jessica Camello and Lindsey Marquez scored on the hit after initially reaching via double and walk, respectively.

SDSU added an insurance run in the sixth that was aided by a Rebel miscue on the would-be third out. Felicia Reifschneider led off the frame with a walk and then stole second and third as the inning progressed. Reifschneider then scored the game's fourth run when Ashli Holland's toss to first was dropped by Tayler Van Acker was dropped on a grounder by Camello.

Bailey Micetich (16-9) picked up the win in complete-game fashion, but had to weather UNLV's offense throughout the day. The Rebels scattered seven singles off of Micetich through the first five innings, but could not muster any in the final two frames. Micetich wound up striking out six against two walks and forced the Rebels to strand nine on the bases.

Amanda Oliveto (18-9) was saddled with the loss in six innings of work. Oliveto allowed four runs (three earned) off of six hits. She struck out five, but walked three.

The win was the 11th consecutive by the Aztecs in the head-to-head series with the Rebels. SDSU has also won six straight in San Diego over UNLV.

UNLV hits the road next week for its final conference trip to the Beehive State to face the Utah Utes and BYU Cougars. The Rebels begin the trip in Salt Lake City against Utah at 4:00 pm MT (3:00 pm PT) followed by a pair in Provo against BYU.
