LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) -

Former Rebel Danny Cruz has been named the MLS W.O.R.K.S. Humanitarian of the Month for May, the league office annoucned on Tuesday.

Cruz was a forward for UNLV in 2007 and 2008 before entering the 2009 MLS Draft, where he was selected by the Houston Dynamo. He received this month's award thanks to his efforts over the past year with the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. That includes his Cruzin' for a Cure campaign, the goal of which is to help a LLS program provide financial support for cancer patients who can't afford their treatments.
