Nike Invitational Starts Friday

LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) -

The UNLV men's soccer team look to get back on track this weekend as it hosts the annual UNLV Nike Invitational. The Rebels will face San Francisco (0-3) on Friday at 7 pm and Green Bay (1-0-1) on Sunday at 1 pm. The tournament, being held at Peter Johann Memorial Field, will also feature Cal State Fullerton.

UNLV weekly men's soccer notes

UNLV and San Francisco are deadlocked at 4-4-2 in the overall series record. The last time the two met was in 2008 where each team scored one goal en route to a tie. The Rebels' last win over the Dons was in 1987 in the NCAA Tournament.

UNLV owns a 3-1 record over Green Bay, but suffered a 2-1 loss against the Phoenix in the last meeting in 2010 season. Current senior goalkeeper Simon Cook had six saves in the loss. The last win for UNLV came in 1991 where the Rebels won the season opener against the Phoenix 3-2.
