Deja Vu Weekend

Oct. 11, 2012

LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) -

UNLV men's soccer weekly release

The UNLV men's soccer team and its two opponents this weekend have one thing in common, as the Rebels, Seattle and San Jose State are all looking for their first MPSF win of the season. UNLV begins the weekend by hosting Seattle on Friday at 7 pm, and that's followed by the Spartans on Sunday at 1 pm, with both games at Peter Johann Memorial Field. In addition, there is a 2 for 1 ticket promotion for Sunday's game with SJSU. Both of UNLV's games will be streamed live on UNLVRebels.com, thanks to the student-run production team of UNLV TV. First-time viewers will need to sign up for a subscription first before viewing the broadcast.

All About The Rebels
UNLV is 2-2 on its home field this season. Senior forward Nick Marshall is tied for second in the MPSF in points with 13 and tied third in goals with five. Sophomore forward Salvador Bernal is next on the team with seven points (two goals, three assists).

Scouting Seattle
Seattle comes in having won only once in the last seven games, a 4-3 home win over Portland. In three of the last seven games the Redhawks were shutout.

Scouting San Jose State
San Jose State actually has a winning road record, with victories at Santa Clara and Sacramento State to go along with the tie at Seattle.

Next Time Out
UNLV will be back on the road for a four-game stretch, beginning with a pair of games next weekend at Seattle on Oct. 12 (3 pm) and at San Jose State on Oct. 14 (12 pm).
