Rebels Looking To Slow Roadrunners

The UNLV men's soccer team will begin its Mountain Pacific Sports Federation schedule this weekend with a Saturday night, 7 pm contest at CSU Bakersfield. The Rebels (2-7-1) are looking for their first road win of the year as well, but it won't be easier as the Roadrunners (4-1-3) are riding a six-game unbeaten streak and are ranked fourth in this week's NSCAA Far West region. The game will be streamed live, and can be accessed via a link on UNLVRebels.com

All About The Rebels
UNLV will be playing the state of California for the seventh time in 11 games with the match against CSU Bakersfield. The Rebels are 0-5-1 in those six games, which includes a pair of one-goal overtime losses, the last a 3-2 setback at Sacramento State on Sunday. Forwards Nick Marshall and Salvador Bernal pace the team in scoring this year, with 11 and seven points, respectively.

The Roadrunners have not lost a game since Aug. 31, with three ties and three wins in their six outings since. Included in that streak is a tie with No. 25 Washington and a 2-0 win over No. 19 UC Riverside. CSUB is led by Gyasi Zardes with seven points on the season.

Next Time Out
UNLV returns to Las Vegas for its conference opener, hosting Seattle on Friday, Oct. 5 at 7 pm, and San Jose State on Sunday, Oct. 7 at 1 pm. , starting at 1 pm. Both games will be streamed live on UNLVRebels.com, thanks to the student-run UNLV TV station.
