LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) - UNLV's Willie Sublette will play for the Flight Two singles title after advancing during Saturday's second day of the Larry Easley Memorial Classic, which is being played this weekend at the Fertitta Tennis Complex.

Sublette downed Oregon's Joey Swaysland 7-6 (5), 6-3 and will take on Auburn's Dante Saleh in Sunday's final. Also going for another victory will be UNLV's Jeff Vongmam, who got by Alex Roggenkamp of Grand Canyon, 6-4, 6-2, in the semifinals of the Flight 2 consolation bracket.

UNLV saw one of its doubles teams - Ace Matias and Denys Pume -- win its quarterfinal match early Saturday before falling later in the day.

Action resumes at 10 a.m. Saturday. Admission is free of charge.

Players from seven other programs are competing in the individual event: Auburn, Arizona, Oregon, NAU, Grand Canyon, Idaho and Seminole (Okla.) State College.

The annual tournament was renamed in 2010 in honor of UNLV Hall of Famer Larry Easley, who passed away from illness in 2005 at the age of 57. Easley coached the UNLV men's tennis team longer than anyone in history and produced sometimes-spectacular results over his dozen seasons from 1993-2002, including producing five All-Americans and two NCAA individual champions.
