UNLV Dominates Sacred Heart, 82-50

LAS VEGAS (AP) - Roscoe Smith led the way for UNLV with 15 points and 13 rebounds while Khem Birch added 15 points and 8 rebounds in an 82-50 victory over Sacred Heart on Friday night in the Continental Tire Las Vegas Classic.

UNLV (6-4) answered with 18 straight points after Phil Gaetano put Sacred Heart on the scoreboard first with a 3-pointer. The Rebels continued on to a 42-15 halftime lead and cruised in the second half.

UNLV was 22 of 33 from the free-throw line and Bryce Dejean-Jones added 14 points for the Rebels.

Sacred Heart (2-10) made only 1 of 6 free throws and 3 of 17 3-pointers. Evan Kelley had 14 points for the Pioneers and Chris Evans added 10.

The Rebels' next game in the Continental Tire Las Vegas Classic will be Sunday night against Santa Clara and then either Mississippi State or South Florida on Monday.
