Runnin' Rebels Roll Past Cal State Fullerton, 83-64

LAS VEGAS (AP) - Roscoe Smith scored 17 points and added 14 rebounds as UNLV took an early lead and defeated Cal State Fullerton 83-64 for its sixth straight win Saturday night.

Bryce Dejean-Jones added 19 points for UNLV, Khem Birch scored 12 and grabbed 10 rebounds, and Kevin Olekaibe hit four 3-pointers to round out the balanced play from the Runnin' Rebels. UNLV (9-4) opened up the first half with a 9-0 run and the second with eight uncontested points, extending its lead to 20 (49-29) with 16:48 left to play. The Rebels made just 47 percent (16 of 34) from the free-throw line but made 50 percent (7 of 14) from 3-point range.

Michael Williams scored 13 points for Cal State-Fullerton, and both Steve McClellan and Josh Gentry came off the bench to add 11 points each. The Runnin' Rebels held the Titans to 34.9 percent shooting from the floor and 20 percent (3 of 15) from behind the arc.
