Rebels Win Big Wave Invite Dual

2013 Big Wave Invite Results

KANOEHE, Hawaii (UNLVRebels.com) - The UNLV cross country team claimed the Big Wave Invitational 5K dual title against the Hawai'i Rainbow Wahine on Saturday at the Kaneohe Klipper Golf Course on the Marine Corps Base Hawaii. UNLV, who was led by Auzsane Crowe-Carter's seventh-place showing, won the head-to-head meet with a total time of 1:43:46.73 compared to UH's 1:45.19.03.

For the second straight meet, Crowe-Carter was the first Rebel to cross the finish line, as she did so today in a time of 20:02.61. Arielle Steimer-Barragan finished 20th overall (20:41.46) and was followed by Amanda Berg (33rd, 20:57.09), Heather Hernandez-Shaw (27th, 21:02.13), Miranda Menzies (28th, 21:03.07) and Katie Cochran (48th, 22:55.98).

Besides UNLV and Hawai'i, the meet consisted of squads from Alaska-Fairbanks, BYU-Hawaii, Chaminade, George Fox, Hawai'i Pacific and UH-Hilo. Hawai'i-Pacific's Fiona McKenna was the overall winner with a time of 18:48.52.
