"It was a fun game because everyone got to compete," said UNLV head coach Kathy Olivier. "We have a new look this year, our thing is to play hard and make sure we are moving the ball and moving ourselves on offense. I felt we did that, while a lot of our offensive tonight was created by our defense, I was happy to see that."
Eleven of the 12 players that dressed out for UNLV scored, with senior Danielle Miller leading the way with 23 points off 9-of-15 shooting. Classmate Alana Cesarz was next with 14 points, while Aley Rohde added 13 and Jehiah Cook 10. Amie Callaway added nine points and 10 rebounds.

The Lady Rebels quickly reeled off 12 straight points, started by a three-point play from Miller. UNLV held the Dixie Storm scoreless over the last three minutes of the opening stanza as well, while scoring 10 unanswered to take a 53-27 edge into halftime.
