LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) - A penalty kick by UNLV's Denali Murnan would give the Rebels a 1-1 double-overtime tie at Utah on Friday night in women's college soccer action at Ute Field. The Rebels moved to 3-1-1 on the season with the decision, while the Utes, who are now 4-0-2, saw their home unbeaten streak grow to 16 games.

"This was a great result against a quality opponent on the road," said UNLV head coach Chris Shaw. "We faced difficult conditions tonight with a very large and vocal crowd. But the team battled hard and earned a hard fought draw that was well deserved."

The Utes took a 1-0 lead in the 24th minute following a corner kick by Avery Jenkins. Katie Taylor knocked down the ball and passed to Audrey Gibbs, who hit the crossbar with her shot before seeing it close over the goal line for the score.

After being outshot 6-3 in the first half, the Rebels took the attack to the Utes in the second 45. The Rebels would take seven shots in the second half to just one for Utah. A foul in the box on the home team led to a penalty kick, and Murnan buried the attempt to tie the game at 1-1 in the 64th minute. The game went into overtime tied at 1-1. Though UNLV held a 4-1 edge on shots in the two extra periods, the contest ended in a 1-1 double-overtime tie.

UNLV finished with a 14-8 edge on shots, and 8-2 on corner kicks. Jordan Sallee made five saves in the goal for the Rebels, while Lindsey Luke collected six for Utah.

The Rebels stay in the state of Utah to face Utah Valley on Sunday at 1 pm in Orem.
