NAPA, Calif. (UNLVRebels.com) - A contingent from the UNLV men's tennis team completed action at its opening fall tournament Sunday at the Napa Valley Collegiate Invitational played at the Silverado Resort and Spa.
Bernando Saraiva of San Francisco downed top Rebel Ace Matias 7-6, 6-1 while fellow-Don Nils Skajaa downed Denys Pume 6-4, 7-6. UNLV's only winner on the final day was Ozzy Abraham who rallied past Pepperdine's Logan Hall 4-6, 6-0, 6-1.
"Both Ace and Denys had opportunities to win today but couldn't quite close it out," Head Coach Owen Hambrook said. "Overall it was a great weekend of touch matches. I want to give a big thanks to the Silverado Ranch Resort, Jacob Hansen and his staff and the housing families for putting on such a great event."
