Amilon Still Alive In Tulsa Tourney

TULSA, Okla. (UNLVRebels.com) - UNLV junior Jakob Amilon won twice more Sunday to stay alive during singles pre-qualifying at the 2015 St. Francis Health Systems ITA Men's Tennis All-American Championships at the Michael D. Case Tennis Center.

Amilon improved to 3-0 at the event by downing Chuck Shewalter of Ohio State, 6-4, 6-4, in the morning and then sweeping Joe DiGiulio of UCLA, 6-4, 6-2, later in the day. He will now face Hawaii's Felix Albert on Monday for an entry into the qualifying rounds.

Teammate Alex Cozbinov won his first match Sunday, 6-0, 5-7, 6-3, to Eleftherios Theodorov of Iowa, but then was eliminated by Alfredo Perez of Florida, 6-1, 6-2.

Rebel Ruben Alberts won his consolation match, 6-1, 6-2, over Drake's Ben Wood.
