UNLV (11-6-1, 5-4-1 WAC) vs. San Jose State (6-10-2, 4-4-2 WAC)
Thursday, Nov. 12 - 2:30 pm (PT) - Kansas City, Mo. (Durwood Soccer Stadium)
A win advances the Rebels to the semifinals for the second straight year and a matchup with second-seed Utah Valley on Friday. The Rebels already have wins over both teams this season, a 1-0 road win at SJSU on Oct. 9, and a 2-1 overtime win at home over Utah Valley on Oct. 25. Thursday is also a rematch of the 2013 WAC first round game between UNLV and SJSU, won by the Spartans in a penalty kick shootout 9-8 after a 2-2 overtime tie.
The contest against the Spartans will also be the fourth in a row for UNLV away from Las Vegas. The Rebels dropped the first two on late goals, but bounced back to rout Grand Canyon 4-0 in the regular season finale. SJSU meanwhile has been strong on defense as of late, having allowed only five goals over the past seven games. However, the Spartans have scored just seven goals over that same stretch, and are 2-8 away from San Jose this season.
UNLV is 0-1 all-time in the state of Missouri, as it lost to UMKC 3-2 earlier this season in a WAC contest.
