Oda Tied For Eighth At All-America Event

EL PASO, Texas (UNLVRebels.com) - After 36 holes of the 2015 Sun Bowl Western Refining College All-America Golf Classic at El Paso Country Club (par 71, 6,889 yards), UNLV sophomore John Oda is tied for eighth place at even-par 142.

Oda held the tournament's lead after one round of play with a 7-under 64 (eight birdies, one bogey). He then shot 78 in the second round and trails the leader by six shots.

South Florida's Claudio Correa leads the field after two rounds at 6-under 136 after two rounds of 68 on Saturday. East Tennessee State's Adrian Meronk is second at 4-under, while two golfers are tied for third at 3-under.

The tournament, which is one of the premier college golf events in the country, features some of golf's brightest stars. Sunday's final round will begin at 8 a.m. MT. Live scoring is available through Golfstat.com.

Oda was named honorable mention All-America following his freshman year.
