UNLV's Game Notes at UC Riverside | 2015-16 UNLV Media Guide
Dec. 10, 2015
LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) - After defeating two top-15 teams in a span of three games, the UNLV men's basketball team lost its first true road game of the season on Wednesday night at Wichita State (56-50) in the Mountain West-Missouri Valley Conference Challenge as the Shockers extended the nation's third-longest home winning streak to 35 games and also the country's second-longest non-conference home winning streak to 34 games.
The Runnin' Rebels will now play their third consecutive game away from the Thomas & Mack Center on Saturday, Dec. 12 at UC Riverside at 4 p.m. at SRC Arena (3,168). The National Finals Rodeo is currently taking place at the Thomas & Mack Center, which causes UNLV to be out of its home arena for approximately three weeks each year.
Prior to the loss at Wichita State, which was ranked in the top-10 in the country in the preseason, UNLV (7-2) defeated then-No. 15/16 Oregon, 80-69, on Dec. 4 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena, and two games prior to that was victorious over then-No. 13/14 Indiana, 72-69, at the Maui Invitational on Nov. 25.
The loss at Wichita State snapped UNLV's four-game winning streak, which was the program's longest in two seasons.
Saturday's game against the Highlanders (5-3) will not be televised, but a video stream will be available through BigWest.TV (link also available at UNLVRebels.com). It will be a simulcast of UCR's radio broadcast with John Ramey calling the action. Jon Sandler and Robert Smith will handle the UNLV radio call, which may be heard live on ESPN Radio 1100 AM/100.9 FM. All internet links along with live stats will be available at UNLVRebels.com.
