LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) - The UNLV men's basketball team will be "Home for the Holidays" and host South Dakota at the Thomas & Mack Center on Tuesday, Dec. 22 at 7 p.m.
The athletics department is running its Family 4-Pack Promotion - 4 tickets for only $40 (in-advance; additional fees may apply on gameday). In addition, 3,000 free red rally towels courtesy of St. Rose Dignity Health will be given away as well as Santa hats to a limited number of students in attendance. There will also be in-game giveaways and prizes.
The Runnin' Rebels (8-4) are coming off an 82-70 road loss at No. 13/12 Arizona on Saturday, which extended the Wildcats' home win streak to 46 - the longest in the country. UNLV is now 2-1 against top-15 teams this season. The wins: then-No. 13/14 Indiana (at Maui Invitational) and then-No. 15/16 Oregon (at MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas).
South Dakota (7-5) has split its last two games - both on the road - a 91-79 loss at Illinois on Saturday and a double-overtime win at Milwaukee (92-91) on Thursday. The Coyotes have won six of their last eight games.
Tuesday's game, which sill close out UNLV's non-conference schedule, will not be televised, but a UNLVRebels.com/Mountain West Network video stream will be available for free with Tony Cordasco and Keith Starr calling the action. Jon Sandler and Robert Smith will handle the UNLV radio broadcast, which may be heard live on ESPN Radio 1100 AM/100.9 FM.
