Rashad Vaughn Suffers Knee Injury

Feb. 12, 2015

LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) - UNLV men's basketball freshman Rashad Vaughn suffered a torn meniscus in his left knee late in the second half of the Runnin' Rebels victory over Fresno State on Tuesday night, head coach Dave Rice announced Thursday.

He will be out indefinitely with the possibility of a return for the Mountain West Tournament.

Vaughn, a 6-foot-6-inch, 210-pound guard from Minneapolis, Minn., is UNLV's leading scorer with an average of 17.8 points per game. He has scored 30 or more points twice this season and 20 or more on nine occasions. He has appeared in 23 of UNLV's 24 games this season, starting all of the games he has played in, and has also averaged 4.8 rebounds per contest.

"We are very disappointed for Rashad," Rice said. "He is having a great freshman year and has been an extremely valuable player on our team. We know he will work very hard to get back on the court as soon as possible and we will support him in every way."
