LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) - The 75th-ranked UNLV men's tennis team saw Fresno State come into a windy Fertitta Tennis Complex on Easter Sunday and spoil Senior Day for the home team, 4-1.

The Rebels fell to 12-7 overall, 2-2 in Mountain West Conference play, and closed their home campaign with a 12-3 mark, while the Bulldogs improved to 14-7 and 3-2.

The visitors grabbed a 1-0 lead by taking both completed doubles matches in a spirited session. Moving to singles play, the teams had to contend with increasingly swirling winds, which led to the match ending when one side clinched the overall win.

Matias lost his final home outing, 6-3, 6-3, at the No. 1 spot to Nikolas Papic to make it 2-0 Bulldogs. UNLV then got on the board at the bottom of the lineup as Ruben Alberts rallied past Youssef Hassan, 1-6, 6-3, 6-4. All four remaining matches went to a third set but the Bulldogs clinched it when Eric Komati finished off Alexandr Cozbinov, 6-1, 2-6, 6-4, on court five. The team's other senior, Denys Pume, saw his match halted while in the third set.

"Today was a tough match and Fresno State played especially well on the big points," said UNLV head coach Owen Hambrook. "I felt we competed well, but hats off to them. It was special to honor Ace and Denys at their final home match because they have done such a great job for us. They are great Rebels and we wish them all the best that life can offer during what will be very bright futures."

The Rebels will close the regular season with three conference road matches, the first coming Friday at New Mexico.
