LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) - The UNLV cross country program released its 2015 fall schedule Monday. The Rebels are slated to compete in four meets prior to their participation in the Mountain West Championships and the NCAA West Regional.

The three-month schedule features two stops in the northern portion of the Silver State. The season kicks off at the Nature's Bakery Twilight Classic (4K), which is hosted by Nevada, Reno in Sparks (Shadow Mountain Park) on Sept. 4. The Rebel harriers will make a return appearance nearly two months later for the MW Championships in Reno (Montreux Golf Course) on Oct. 30.

The Scarlet & Gray has opened a campaign at the Twilight Classic four of the last five years. The 2014 edition was the only one dating back to 2011 that didn't start in Northern Nevada, as Woodward Park in Fresno, Calif., played host to both the season opener and the Conference's meet.

UNLV will also travel to meets hosted by San Diego State on Sept. 18 and Santa Clara on Oct. 17 for the Aztec Invitational (5K) and Bronco Invitational (6K), respectively.

In the middle of those four road trips is the program's own UNLV Cross Country Invitational on Oct. 3. Craig Ranch Regional Park (628 W. Craig Ranch Road) in North Las Vegas will play host to the Rebels' lone home meet for the second straight year. In all, six races will be contested with a pair for university-based competitors - men's 6K and women's 5K - as well as four 5K's dedicated to high school boys and girls.

"With the majority of our student-athletes returning from last year's team, we have a great opportunity to take advantage of that experience and chemistry," said head cross country coach Jebreh Harris. "We are excited to see what we can do this year coming off one of our more productive seasons of cross country and track & field. I expect our veterans to lead the program and hold each other accountable to the team's goals that have been set. Our schedule allows us to be competitive and diverse as we head to the Mountain West Championships at the end of October."
