CLAREMONT, Calif. (UNLVRebels.com) - Four of the five UNLV tennis players entered won their opening singles qualifying matches Friday at the 2015 Claremont USTA Pro Classic in California.

Competing at the Claremont Club in this pro circuit event, Jakob Amilon downed Alex Brenner 6-3, 6-2; Alexandr Cozbinov swept Anderson Kopp 6-4, 6-0; newcomer Richard Solberg beat Julian Gordy 6-0, 6-3; and Las Vegas product Rhett Boss got by Harrison Keyser 6-2, 7-6 (5).

Qualifying continues Saturday and the event runs through September 20.
