LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) -
UNLV game notes
While the UNLV men's soccer teams has already clinched a spot in next week's WAC Tournament, there is still a lot to play for when the Rebels hit the field against UMKC on Saturday night in the regular season finale for both squads. The game will kickoff at 7 pm at Peter Johann Memorial Field, while the free tailgate party, sponsored by the UNLV Soccer Foundation, opens at 5 pm with food, drinks and live music.Tickets are $8, or $5 if bought online at UNLVRebels.com, while kids 12 and under are free to UNLV soccer contests.
Though UNLV currently stands in fourth place among teams eligible for the conference tournament, a win on Saturday along with a loss by Air Force to Seattle would give the Rebels the third seed, as it would win the tiebreaker over the Falcons thanks to its 3-2 win in Las Vegas back in October. A loss however could drop UNLV to the fourth or fifth seed.
This is the first time since 2012 the Rebels will play their regular season finale at home. Though its the tradition Senior Night, only one player on the UNLV roster will be playing their final home game, senior goalkeeper Richard Garness. The other two seniors on the roster, Kevin Partida and Daniel Diaz, are both redshirting the season.
Saturday's game will be streamed live on the Mountain West Digital Network, available online on UNLVRebels.com as well as on the Roku and Apple TV steaming devices.
