Amilon Named MW Men's Tennis Player Of The Week

LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) - UNLV junior Jakob Amilon was named the program's first Mountain West Men's Tennis Player of the Week in 2016, the league announced Wednesday.

Playing at the No. 1 positions in the lineup, Amilon went a combined 5-1 in singles and doubles over the weekend while helping the Rebels to a 3-0 mark at home.

The native of Stockholm, Sweden, picked up a trio of singles victories in straight sets from players from New Mexico State, Weber State and UC Riverside. He also teamed up with Ruben Alberts for a pair of doubles victories.

The Rebels, riding a four-match winning streak, will next be action tomorrow at Pepperdine.
